Fees and Expenses

There should always be a clear understanding about the work requested and the fees and expenses to be charged.

Most of our legal work is done on an hourly basis. We keep itemized records of our time and submit these to you with each hourly rate billing. Billing is done on a periodic basis, generally monthly.

Expenses which we pay on your behalf are billed separately on the statement. These expenses could include court costs, travel expenses, witness fees, discovery costs and computerized legal research.

In some cases, we request that you pay an advance sum as a retainer. This retainer is deposited in our trust account. To the extent our statement is not paid by you, it is paid from this retainer. If payment is late, an interest rate is charged on the unpaid balance.
